The job duties of an accountant include reviewing and maintaining financial information; preparing and submitting tax documents; assessment of financial operations or advising on record-keeping and compliance requirements.
Areas of specialisations may include assurance, commercial finance, corporate finance, corporate recovery, corporate treasury, financial accounting, forensic accounting or internal audit.
Most Accounting graduates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce but may require additional examinations to be officially certified as an accountant. Most of the time, students choose to pursue double majors in Accounting and Finance.
